Dates to Remember!! Ice compressors will be turned off the Monday evening following the Bantam State Tournament - March 10th. Also, the Annual Banquet will be held Sunday, March 30th, at the Barron High School Commons starting at 12:00 noon. Please contact your team's parent representative for further information as it becomes available! Anyone (even those outside the association) interested in volunteering a small amount of time to help accomplish the many tasks that help our association run smoothly, please contact any of our committee directors or Kim Bates at 715-357-3883 (e-mail atkimbates@chibardun.net).

| WANTED: A few good referees for the upcoming hockey season. Must be aggressive, willing to call penalties and be in control of the game. It’s a great way to make some “cold” cash during the hockey season. You can register online at WAHA.com. Must be at least 12 years old to register. If you have any questions, please contact Sue Polzin at 637-7223 or 205-2484. You will need to contact her when you pass your test, so she can get you on the schedule to ref games.

| Tournaments Committee: The Tournaments Committee Directors this year are Russ Cox (715-637-0429 - rechockey2003@yahoo.com) and Sue Polzin (715-637-7223 - poldirks@yahoo.com). They will be attempting to organize a home tournament for each level sometime in the month of February. Everyone should be ready to volunteer in some capacity at their team's tournament. Be sure to let one of the tournament directors know when and where you have an interest in helping. These tournaments are usually a lot of fun for everyone involved. | Signage Committee: Our new Signage Committee Directors are Andy Rahm (715-234-1479 - maryrahm@yahoo.com) and Jesse Claflin (715-568-4298 - sclaflin@sehinc.com). Are you aware of anyone that may be willing to support our youth skaters by placing an advertising sign in our arena? If so, tell Andy or Jesse and they will provide the appropriate information to have a sign installed before the season starts. Something NEW! Be sure to ask Andy about the $100 registration/fundraising credit. |

| Building and Grounds Committee: The Committee Directors are Keith Hanson (715-859-2977 - kdhanson@j-ots.com) and Adam Wyse (715-637-1009 - wyseas@yahoo.com). This summer we have started to finish the bathrooms in the referee's and player's locker rooms and all the block walls in those areas now have a fresh coat of paint. We are always looking for any adults willing to help on similar small projects that maintain or improve our facility. If you have any interest in these areas please contact Adam or Keith. This is one of many ways you can complete some of your required service hours before next season even starts. |

| Website: Please be sure to periodically check our website calendar for any summer Youth Hockey activities. Also, during the hockey season, the most recent changes to your team’s game schedule will be posted. As experienced hockey parents know, games may be added to or deleted from the original game schedule throughout the season. Also, referees should remember that they may now make online requests to officiate games held at the Barron Ice Arena by going to the “Ref Schedule” section of our website. |

| Scheduling Committee: Parents, are you looking for some ways to complete your 25 service hours during the hockey season? Will you be taking your child to open skate? Please consider helping during open skate by collecting admission fees at the door or filling in at the concession stand on a Friday night, 7 – 9 PM. Also, we are looking for volunteers from each level to learn how to install ice in October, resurface the ice with our Zamboni and run the scoreboard. We will be holding training sessions before the season starts and during the season as requested. These activities are very easy to learn and you’ll have some fun at the same time. After all, how many Moms or Dads can say they’ve driven a Zamboni? Please contact your Team Manager if you have an interest in any of these activities.
